What PepCaddie does with information. The short version: the site counts page loads through Cloudflare Web Analytics, and what you type into the tools stays in your own browser.
The site measures page loads with Cloudflare Web Analytics
PepCaddie uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is used to see how many people reach the site, which pages they arrive on, and how quickly those pages load, which is what decides what gets written next and shows when something is slow or broken.
Cloudflare adds a small script to the pages it serves, loaded from static.cloudflareinsights.com. When that script runs it sends a measurement to Cloudflare for that page load. It is ordinary JavaScript running in your browser, so if it is blocked, if JavaScript is turned off, or if it simply fails to load, it does not run and that page load is not measured. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare adds the script when the site is deployed rather than it being written into the page source.
A measurement can include the address of the page being viewed, how the browser arrived at it, the browser engine and version, the operating system version, page timing and transfer figures, and an identifier generated for that single page load. Cloudflare can report results grouped by country, host, path, referring link, device type, browser, operating system and navigation type. These are examples of what Cloudflare Web Analytics may process and report, taken from its documentation and from inspecting a measurement sent by this site. They are not a promise that every measurement contains the same fields: what is sent can vary between browsers and between visits, and Cloudflare can change its own product.
Cloudflare's documentation states that it does not track individual end users across the sites it serves. What the product collects is described in Cloudflare's data collection documentation and the categories it reports are listed in its reporting dimensions. What Cloudflare does with information it processes is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy, not by this page.
There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager and no advertising pixel on the site, and no second analytics service.
What you type stays in your browser
The calculators and the schedule builder work on the values you type, in your own browser. Those values are not sent to PepCaddie, and they are not part of what the analytics script measures: the measurement above describes the page, not its contents.
They are saved using local storage on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them, and they are not shared between devices or between browsers.
The values stored are the ones you enter while using the site:
- Whether you have completed the introductory walkthrough, so it is not shown again.
- The schedule you build, so it is still there when you come back.
- Any protocols you save, and which one you had open.
Accounts, forms and email
There is no account system and no sign-up form: nothing to sign in to, no profile to build, and no field anywhere on the site that asks for your email address. PepCaddie sets no cookies of its own.
PepCaddie does publish a contact address, info@pepcaddie.com. If you choose to write to it, PepCaddie receives your email address and whatever your message contains, in the same way as any other email. Nothing on the site sends it for you.
Hosting
The site is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the network requests needed to deliver a page, and it receives what any server receives in order to answer a request. That is separate from the analytics described above, and it happens whether or not the analytics script runs.
Affiliate links
The supplies page links to general items on Amazon using affiliate links, marked as sponsored in the page markup. Following one takes you to Amazon, whose own privacy practices apply from that point. PepCaddie is not told who followed a link, and receives no information about you from them.
What this page does not claim
This page describes what PepCaddie does, and what its analytics provider publishes about its own product. It makes no promise on Cloudflare's behalf about IP addresses, how long anything is kept, or compliance with any particular privacy law, because those are not PepCaddie's to promise.
Questions about any of this, or a request about your information, can go to info@pepcaddie.com.
